The clubs in energy crisis - SLC provides important insights through the Amateurfußball-Baromter for DFB
Germany is in the middle of an energy crisis. The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine has led to sharp price increases for electricity and heating materials. The energy crisis is not only affecting the economy and all private households. The need to save energy also applies to associations, which play a vital role in our society.
In order to be able to absorb the additional burden, Germany's amateur clubs would like to see support from politicians, but they also see themselves as having a responsibility to save energy. The results of the latest survey in the Amateur Football Barometer by SLC Management for the German Football Association (DFB) reveal other relevant aspects for politics, society and the club sector.
82.0% of respondents said they wanted support from politicians in view of the high additional costs at the club. 93.8% demand support from public institutions in the implementation of energy-saving measures. So that support comes and the offers are also meaningful for the club base, for this talks are already underway at many levels between associations and politics. The DFB has for this purpose, for example, already spoken with the Federal Minister for Special Tasks to call for appropriate support.
The survey results of the nearly 4,000 respondents also make it clear that the clubs are characterized by a high degree of personal responsibility. 93.5% emphasize their willingness to implement energy-saving measures, and 40.8% have already done so. As the most frequent measure, the club representatives indicate the conversion to a LED lighting technology (68.2%), followed by the maintenance of windows and doors (31.2%) and the conversion to renewable energy sources (25.5%).
The clubd and associations accordingly take their role in society seriously and make an important contribution.
