Advantage through value studies: Always one step ahead with the sustainability study and the expert opinion on regional economic effects
Sport in Germany has an extraordinary social and economic significance. Clubs have to do justice to this significance on a permanent basis and at the same time face up to the challenges that come with it. On the one hand, this means being able to bring society closer to their own importance, and on the other hand, not just reactively attaching themselves to emerging trends and challenges, but proactively getting involved and steering them.
So associations must not only do justice to their essential role as a social, economic and societal factor, they must also obtain the relevant information about their actual impact. Only then can their own activities be managed in a targeted manner, and also only then can a verifiable profile be drawn up that makes it clear to stakeholders outside the world of sport that clubs are more than just match day at the weekend.
Based on these challenges for professional clubs, SLC Management GmbH, under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Alfons Madeja, has launched the #WerteStudien initiative in order to be able to offer you customized analyses and solutions around the topic of "values" of professional clubs within the shortest possible time.
Two focus topics have emerged here due to current relevance: An expert opinion on regional economic effects and an individual study on sustainability. [Click on graphic to enlarge]
Regional economic effects.
"It has always been tangible in Düsseldorf what kind of charisma Fortuna exerts. Unfortunately, we could never describe or quantify this exactly. Through the study of SLC, the resulting effects are presented transparently for the first time and we can discuss them with our partners fact-based - by the way, the charisma of Fortuna is even greater than we ourselves had previously expected. ... therefore, we would like to thank you once again very much for the watertight and extensive elaboration."
So says Thomas Röttgermann, Chairman of the Board of Fortuna Düsseldorf to the regional economic expertise carried out.
You want answers to, for example, the following questions?
- In which ranking the club moves in the opinion of the population, if one thinks of the city/region?
- To what extent do other companies as well as other institutions benefit from the existence and performance requirements of the club?
The report of the regional economic effects provides you with a transparent and neutral picture of the benefits of the association for the city. The monetary and qualitative effects arising from the services of the association for the city should be considered by a public carrier in all partnership actions with the association.
Individual study on sustainability for strategy and operational.
"In terms of sustainability, the results help us get an assessment of where we are, what is expected of us and where we need to go."
This is how Carsten Cramer, managing director of Borussia Dortmund, assesses the SLC sustainability study.
Are you asking yourself the following questions, among others?
- What does my environment understand by "sustainability" and what is the importance of this topic for them? .
- Which measures and activities are perceived in what way and how great is the acceptance?
In the context of the study, association-specific insights and recommendations for action are collected and developed. In addition, an essential statement on the surrounding readiness for sustainability ("Surrounding Readiness for Sustainability") is made, which should provide information about the relationship of sustainability push and pull between the club and its environment.
