VfL Bochum 1848 and SLC Management extend cooperation

Sustainability in all areas is the goal and a central focus of VfL Bochum 1848. This also applies to club management and partnerships: by continuing its cooperation with SLC Management GmbH as a partner for fact-based consulting with a focus on sustainability, VfL is taking decisive measures for the future.

Since the introduction of new DFL licensing criteria in May 2022, Bundesliga clubs have had to deal intensively with the issue of sustainability, which is also becoming increasingly important to society. For VfL Bochum 1848, it is particularly important to involve its stakeholders in the development and implementation of the sustainability strategy. "Thanks to the club information system CIS^© and the expertise of SLC, we always have the right basis for decision-making, which enables us to implement sustainability measures more efficiently because they are supported by our environment," explains Ilja Kaenzig, Managing Director of VfL Bochum 1848.

Maximilian Madeja, Managing Director of SLC Management GmbH highlights the achievements of VfL Bochum 1848 in the area of sustainability: "VfL Bochum is already among the top 5 in our short study on 'Sustainability in the Bundesliga'. This shows that the club's strategy and measures are tailored to the needs of the fans and have a great impact on the public."

In future, SLC will continue to provide VfL with insights through regular surveys of members and fans. The focus will continue to be on the topic of sustainability. However, in order to be sustainably positioned in all club functions, other topics such as women's football and the club strategy will also be analysed. The insights gained will enable VfL to scrutinise planned measures and review their impact and perception in a timely manner. "This representative feedback enables us to continuously improve and 'take our fans with us' on our journey," explains Matthias Mühlen, Head of Sustainability/CSR at VfL Bochum 1848.

The statement "You don't choose your club, it chooses you!" in the current VfL clip "In love for life" is supplemented by Ilja Kaenzig with: "But you choose your partners yourself! We deliberately chose SLC four years ago because of their unique combination of business expertise, scientific methodology and their many years of experience and passion in football. We look forward to continuing our collaboration!"
